Today Affinity has increased the version numbers of their creative apps Publisher, Photo and Designer to 1.8. This brings many improvements and new features.
From now on, InDesign-IDML files can be opened in Publisher. After initial tests, this seems to work quite well. Some rework is necessary, but basically the developers have implemented a great feature.
Other features in Publisher 1.8 include:
- Support for templates
- Smart Master-Pages
- Package resources
- Column rules
- Merging documents
- Unification of the toolbar under macOS Mojave upwards
... and many other things in combination with the innovations of Affinity Photo and Designer. Since users can easily switch to these two programs without having to leave the program environment thanks to Studio Link technology, this adds up to a considerable expansion of creative tools.
